Comparing ShipMonk and Airhouse? Choose the company that commits to shipping orders within 24 hours.
Beware of too-good-to-be-true low rates—they could mean sacrificing quality and control. Airhouse’s itemized invoices ensure you actually know what you’re paying for.
We understand that you’re not just outsourcing pick-and-pack and storage—you’re trying to take the heavy lifting of fulfillment off your plate. At Airhouse, we assign every customer a dedicated Account Manager who will proactively monitor operations, provide consultative support, and act as your warehouse ambassador.
Most warehouses represent two extremes. They're too rigid, with no tolerance for customization. Or they're too generic, reinventing the wheel every time they try to meet the unique needs of modern brands. Airhouse uses a network of pre-vetted, rigorously tested warehouses to meet a wide array of customer needs without forfeiting speed and efficiency.
Our warehouse network is flexible enough to support any growth strategy. Whether DTC or B2B, domestic or international, you can mix and match our services, warehouses, and support to meet your customers’ demands.
Your 3PL’s platform is mission control for all things fulfillment—so shouldn’t it be easy to use? Our software, built by Silicon Valley engineers, is central to the Airhouse model because we believe you should be able to control your operations without playing telephone.
Speedy order turnaround is non-negotiable for ecommerce brands, but not all providers can provide the same level of service. ShipMonk doesn’t guarantee any fulfillment SLAs, so they can’t be held accountable for orders that ship days or weeks after they were placed.
Airhouse guarantees DTC orders ship within 24 hours (and most B2B within 72), but on average, DTC orders leave the warehouse in under 12 hours. We’re able to make this commitment in part because we only move your inventory between our warehouses at your direction; ShipMonk practices load balancing, which means they can move your inventory from location to location at their sole discretion.
When it comes to something as complex as fulfillment, reliable customer support is critical. At Airhouse, we act as an extension of your team. When you work with us, you’ll have a dedicated Account Manager to proactively monitor your operations, consult with you on key decisions, and troubleshoot issues as—or before—they arise.
ShipMonk’s ticketing system almost guarantees you’ll always need to work with a new rep who doesn’t know your business. Our customers have a direct line of contact with their Account Manager, so questions are answered by someone who knows your company inside and out—and in less than half of ShipMonk’s average response time, to boot.
There’s nothing worse than signing up for competitive rates, just to be nickel-and-dimed later. Airhouse follows an a la carte pricing model with monthly invoices that provide line item detail into every order—from pick fees to carrier surcharges.
With granular insight into your expenses, you can make more informed decisions to optimize your costs and raise your margins. And unlike ShipMonk, Airhouse has no monthly minimums—regardless of your business’ seasonality or storage requirements, you’ll only ever pay for the services you use.
As your company grows, so will the complexity of your fulfillment operations. You need software that will let you build multiple workflows and monitor operations at scale. At Airhouse, we’ve built a powerful, intuitive platform that gives you total control over your logistics, from setting custom order logic to pausing individual orders.
Yes, ShipMonk charges a minimum monthly fee, calculated using your monthly order volume. If your order volume falls more than 20% below expectations, ShipMonk will charge you the difference between your projected expenses for the month and your actual expenses. However, if your storage fees are greater than your fulfillment fees, your monthly minimum is equal to your storage fees. The lowest possible minimum at ShipMonk is $250/month.
No, Airhouse doesn’t use load balancing or inventory distribution across its warehouse network. That’s because we believe you should know where your inventory is at all times. You choose which warehouses to store inventory in so you can avoid split shipments, reduce the risk of losing inventory, and fulfill wholesale orders (because individual POs always need to come from a single warehouse).
ShipMonk can support custom packaging rules or inserts by SKU or by order, but the insert cannot weigh more than 8 oz. That means you cannot add another item to an order based on the SKUs in that order unless it meets these weight requirements.
